Description
Wingspan 27 – 34. The wings are orange with a subtle brown border. Very similar to Essex Skipper but the tips of the antennae graduate to brown.
Habitat
Grasslands, along roadsides, in waste-ground, hedgerows and banks. The caterpillars feed mainly on Yorkshire-fog.
Status and Distribution
Common and widespread in England and Wales. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best Time to See
June to August.
