Description
Over all length 3 – 4mm. This is one of several very similar species which need very close inspection to separate. They can jump like fleas when disturbed and are a dark, metallic blue.
Habitat
The adults and larvae feed on the leaves of Willowherbs.
Status and Distribution
Common and widespread in the south-east, East Anglia, the Midlands and western Wales. Patchy elsewhere and uncommon in Scotland.
Best Time to See
April to August.
