Common Green Capsid

Lygocoris pabulinus

Description

Over all length 5 – 6.5mm. Green with a brown wing membrane. There are several green plant bugs, so care must be taken with identification. Lygocoris have brown spines on the tibiae and L. pabulinus has a smooth pronotum.

Habitat

Found in a wide variety of habitats, frequently on nettles.

Status and Distribution

Common and widespread throughout Britain. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
