Description
Wingspan 28 – 34mm. The fore-wings are mainly white with dark clouding towards the rear edge.
Habitat
Woodland edge, hedgerows, scrublands, parks and gardens. The larvae feed mostly on blackthorn, hawthorn, cherry and crab-apple.
Status and Distribution
Common and well distributed in southern England and Wales, less common in the north and Scotland.

May to July.
