Description

Body length 12 to 15mm. An elegant species that is mainly yellow and black.

Habitat

Woodland edge and hedgerows where the larvae are endoparasites of ermine moth caterpillars.

Status and distribution

Widely but sparsely recorded throughout southern Britain.

Best time to see

August to September.
