Dark-vented Aglaostigma
Aglaostigma aucupariae
Description
Body length 7 - 9mm. Mainly black with a broad red band around the abdomen and white shoulder stripes.
Habitat
Woodland edge and hedgerows. The larvae feed on bedstraws.
Status and distribution
Mainly restricted to the southern half of Britain. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and very common at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
March to June.
