Description

Wingspan 25mm. The wings are buff with dark brown markings. the third bar across the fore-wing curves towards the wing-tip.

Habitat

Woodland, scrub and hedgerows, the caterpillars feed on a range of woody plants.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread throughout most of Britian, most common in the south. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

June to August.
