Description

Wingspan 15mm. Marked in various shades of red/brown, but very variable.

Habitat

Woodland, woodland edge and hedgerows. The larva feed on the leaves and fruits of a range of deciduous trees and shrubs.

Life History

Mainly confined to England and Wales, where it is common and widespread. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

June to July.
