Description
Wingspan 45mm. Pale buff with a dusting of grey spots, some forming a line across the fore-wing. The tip of the fore-wing forms a slight hook.
Habitat
Damp reed-beds where the caterpillars feed inside the bases of the stems.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread throughout southern Britain but becoming local in Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
August to October.
