Description
Wingspan 25 - 28mm. The fore-wings are pale, greyish, with a broad reddish bar, bordered with black.
Habitat
Woodland, hedgerows and downland. The caterpillars are thought to feed on crucifers.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread throughout most of Britain. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire, but not so common in the Trent Valley or Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
May to August in two broods.
