Description

Wingspan 23 - 28mm. A white winged moth with a broken blackish border.

Habitat

Woods and scrubland. The caterpillars feed on birch.

Status and distribution

Common and widespread throughout England and Wales except for Lincolnshire and northern England. Less common in Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire and at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

May to August.
