Chequered Fruit-tree Tortrix

Description
Wingspan 18 - 22mm. The fore-wings are honey-coloured with a chequered pattern and darker bar. The hind-wings are pale straw.
Habitat
Woodland and hedgerows where a wide variety of trees are used as food-plants for the caterpillars.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread through the south of Britain, less common in Scotland. Common in Nottinghamshire and regular at Netherfield Lagoons.
Best time to see
July and August.
