Description
Body length 6 - 8mm. This beetle is metallic green with non-metallic, chestnut, elytra (wing cases).
Habitat
A fairly wide choice of habitats, often wetlands. The adults feed on mint or other Lamiaceae species, nettle and ivy, while the larvae are normally on mint.
Status and distribution
Common and widespread in southern England and Wales. Less common in the north of England and restricted to the lowlands in Scotland. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and recorded twice at Netherfield Lagoons.

May to July.
