False Blister Beetle

Description

Over all length 5 - 8mm. This is a long, thin beetle that is a dark, green/grey in colour.

Habitat

Grasslands, where the adults feed on pollen from the flowers. the larvae feed within dead stems of herbaceous plants.

Status and distribution

Common in South East England, East Anglia, the Midlands and parts of Wales, less common in the West Country and Cumbria and rare in Scotland. Fairly common in Nottinghamshire and common at Netherfield Lagoons.

Best time to see

May to August.
