This afternoon four Yellow Wagtails – three of them juveniles – were on the Ecopark. A Green Sandpiper was seen flying low over the Slurry Lagoon. IEP.

Mediterranean Gull – 27th July
This morning a Raven flew east over the site and later a Mediterranean Gull was seen with other gulls flying over towards the Enva site. Two young Peregrines were making practice stoops at each other over the Slurry Lagoon. PS.
Black Tern – 22nd July
This morning there was a Black Tern feeding over the Slurry Lagoon with the Common Terns. PS
In the afternoon there were three Black-tailed Godwits on the Slurry Lagoon. JDn.
Sandwich Tern – 21st July
This evening a Sandwich Tern was seen following the river upstream, flying high over the railway bridge. MC.
Caspian Tern – 20th July
This evening a Caspian Tern was seen flying around the Slurry Lagoon. It was probably the same bird as had been at Holme Pierrepont earlier on. MC.
Shoveler – 16th July
This morning a female Shoveler led six newly hatched ducklings across the Slurry Lagoon, in front of the Causeway bench. There were also up to ten young Little Grebes and a well grown Great Crested Grebe chick. PS.
Hobby – 15th July
During the Volunteer Work Morning, a Hobby was seen, flying along the railway track, calling agitatedly. Then the reason for its agitation appeared as a female Peregrine flew towards it, over the Lower Path. Good numbers of Red Admirals were also seen. PS.
Bittern – 10th July
This morning, during the monthly bird-count, a Bittern was seen in the reeds at the northern end of the Deep Pit. NWG.
