A first winter Caspian Gull was amongst the gulls at the Enva site this morning and Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail and Little Egret were along the Ouse Dyke. MC.
The pair of Peregrines were on the new pylon, three male and two female Goldeneye were on the Large Gravel Pit. PS.
This morning, at the Enva plant, a Caspian Gull, Yellow-legged Gull and a hybrid gull were seen. There were fifty Lesser Redpolls in the Slurry Lagoon birches and 150 Pink-footed Geese went through to the SW. There was also a single Raven seen, flying south. PR/MC
This morning there were 11 Whooper Swan in total. 6 flew through west calling, there was a single bird briefly on the Large Gravel Pit before being chased off by Mute Swans and 4 flew east late morning. -The 1st winter Caspian Gull was still on the Deep Pit.-c250 Redwing in several flocks through the morning.- A Drake Pintail still on the Eco-park.- 10+ Skylark through. This morning a pair of Stonechats were on the Ecopark. The Slurry Lagoon had masses of ducks, coots and gulls on it, including over 250 Wigeon. PG.
In the afternoon there were two Caspian Gulls and five Yellow-legged Gulls in the Deep Pit area. A Great White Egret was on the Wader Scrape, a Pintail on the Ecopark and two Bramblings on the Severn/Trent field. MC.
Three Caspian Gulls [adult, 2nd-winter and 1st-winter on roof at Enva Recycling Centre, 15:45]; also two Yellow-legged Gulls [adult and 1st-winter], 2 Hobbies, Peregrine, 2 Ravens, Grass Snake, 6 Willow Emerald Damselflies.
This evening there were three Caspian Gulls and four Yellow-legged Gulls on the Enva roof. MC.
This evening, at dusk, two Woodcocks were seen, flying out to feed. During the day a Caspian Gull was seen on the recycling plant roof and two Ravens and a Green Sandpiper were also seen. RW.
Today an adult Caspian Gull was seen on the roof of the re-cycling centre. A Ruddy Shelduck and a Green Sandpiper were seen on the Ecopark. RW.
This afternoon there were seven Red-crested Pochard on the Large Gravel Pit, as well as two Little Egrets. The gull roost on the Slurry Lagoon again held the Caspian Gull as well as a flock of 267 Golden Plover and there was a pair of Pintail and a Shelduck. On the pasture field across the river there were four Pink-footed Geese and, as dusk fell, twenty-seven White-fronted Geese came to roost on the Slurry Lagoon. PS. RW.
