Description
Over all length 7 - 9mm. The wings extend well beyond the end of the abdomen and are patterned with broken bars. The legs are banded dark and light along their entire length.
Habitat
Adults can be found along hedgerows. The larvae are aquatic.
Status and distribution
Not very well recorded but found across most of Britain. Not often seen at the reserve.
